This is actaully a correction of the post I posted before. Eugene McEldowney was born 27 years after Roger Casement was hanged and the folk song was out on the streets of Dublin shortly after Casement's hanging.. So could he possibly have written the words???? It was recorded by Gary Og and the Wolfhound in 2008 and on their website is given credit for having written it. Please e-mail me ASAP. It's in a play by my departed husband who I'm sure would not have used it if it was the property Of Eugene McEldowney. If it is indeed authored by Eugene McEldowney, we would have to remove it from the play and replace it with THE WEARING OF THE GREEN. but I like the Casement ballad so much more!
Thank you ever so much!

Irene
